Why finding a distributor is harder than it looks

Most drinks founders hit the same wall. You can buy a database of importers in an afternoon. What you can't buy is the dozens of personalised emails, the follow-ups, and the months of polite persistence it takes to turn a name on a list into a buyer who actually replies. That work is unglamorous and relentless, which is exactly why it gets dropped when you're also making, selling and shipping the product.

There's also a targeting problem. A distributor who is brilliant for a craft gin is wrong for a no-and-low RTD. Distributor, importer, wholesaler, which one do you actually need?

The labels overlap, but the distinction shapes who we approach for you:

  • Importer: brings your product across the border, handles duty and compliance, and is usually your first point of entry into a new country.
  • Distributor: warehouses your stock and sells it into the on-trade (bars, restaurants, hotels) and off-trade (shops, supermarkets) within a market.
  • Wholesaler / cash-and-carry: sells on to smaller retailers and venues, often once a distributor has built some demand.

Which countries do you cover?

Europe including the UK for our first wave, drawing on thousands of vetted importers and distributors, with new regions added over time. We'll tell you honestly on the call if your priority market isn't covered yet.

What happens after the four months?

You get everything handed over, every buyer, every reply, every live thread. You can take it forward yourself, or renew for a fresh sixty buyers in new countries.
